Dr. John Kavanaugh is a graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery and is board certified in each specialty. Dr. Kavanaugh is recertified in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was a full time member of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Kentucky from July 1976 until September 1979. Since that time he has been an active participant in orthopaedic graduate medical education at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Kavanaugh is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Irish American Orthopaedic Society.  Dr. Kavanaugh served as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Peter's Hospital from January, 2001 through December, 2003.

Dr. Kavanaugh sees patients in the Albany and Delmar offices.
