Dr. David Dixon started his practice with Northeast Orthopaedics in August of 2001.  He is an orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery and is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery.  Raised in Maine, Dr. Dixon earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.  He graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont in 1995 where he earned his Medical Degree.

From Vermont, Dr. Dixon completed his Orthopaedic Surgery internship and residency in Detroit, Michigan in 2000.  He then completed an AO Fellowship in Switzerland dealing with techniques in Orthopaedic trauma surgery and also completed a special traveling fellowship in foot and ankle surgery in Seattle, Washington at Harborview Medical Center working with Sigrard T. Hansen, MD.  From there, he completed a year of formal foot and ankle subspecialty work at the Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center in Pontiac, Michigan, working with fellowship director Arthur Manoli, II, MD.  He immediately joined Northeast Orthopaedics to begin his practice in Orthopaedics with a special interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Dixon is the author of several peer-reviewed orthopaedic jurnal articles and has authored a textbook chapter in "Technques of Foot and Ankle Surgery." He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is currently the Chief of Orthopaedics at the Executive Woods Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Dr. Dixon was awarded the "Physician of the Year" award in 2007 from the nurses at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Dixon sees patients in the Albany and East Greenbush Offices.
