NEO Named A Better Performer
Posted on: 08/13/2010
Northeast Orthopaedics has been named as a national top performing physician practice by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) for the fifth year in a row.
"We are pleased to be recognized as a better performing practice for the fifth year in a row," said Alan Okun, Northeast’s Practice Administrator. "I commend all our physicians and staff for their exceptional work in achieving this honor, and I know we will continue to provide excellent care and continue to save lifestyles every day in all of our practices throughout the Capital Region."
The Association's (MGMA) Performance and Practices of Successful Medical Groups: 2009 Report Based on 2008 Data identified Northeast Orthopaedics (NEO) as a "better performer." Northeast Orthopaedics, an 18-physician orthopaedic group with six convenient locations throughout the Capital Region, received the "best practices" honor due to its superior services, functions and processes compared to other medical group practices nationwide. They are one of only 16 medical practices in New York State to receive this accolade.
The MGMA report has been a benchmarking standard among medical groups for nearly a decade. It profiles medical practices that have demonstrated success in one or more areas: profitability and cost management; productivity, capacity and staffing; accounts receivable and collections; patient satisfaction; and managed care operations. NEO is among the top medical group practices in the U.S. in the area of profitability and cost management. MGMA surveys depend on voluntary participation and may not be representative of the industry.
