Back 2 School Expo A Huge Success!

Northeast Orthopaedics was a proud sponsor of the Back 2 School Expo at Colonie Center on Saturday, September 11. Our exhibit entitled, "The World of Bones" offered visitors three different opportunities to learn about the musculo-skeletal system. We had the opportunity to put casts on over 60 children to reduce their fear of this process. We also gave out over 400 lunch bags after the children completed a fun BONES puzzle. Kids had a chance to try out arthroscopy equipment using the "Operations" game as a guide.
"Dem Bones, Dem Bones" introduced children to how the body's bony structure is laid out. Games and other techniques were used to help to name the many bones in the human body. "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" introduced children to broken bones and casting with live demonstrations. "The Orthopaedic Operating Room" featured surgical equipment from Linvatec and a live demonstration of shoulder arthroscopy. Drs. Flik and Buttaci were there to answer your sports and other orthopaedic questions.

Removing a cast from one of our many little visitors.

Everyone wanted a cast!
