Our Professional Staff
Rachel Audi, RPA
Rachel has been employed by Northeast Orthopaedics since 2003. She works in both the operating room and in the office seeing patients. Much of the time she works with our Sports Medicine physicians, Drs. Alfandre and Flik, seeing patients in the office and assisting in surgery.
Melissa Borgel, FNP
Melissa Borgel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1993. She then pursued her Masters of Science degree in Nursing as well as a certification as a family nurse practitioner at Millersville University in PA and graduated in 1999.
Melissa started at Northeast Orthopaedics in 2003, working mostly with patients who had total knee and hip replacements. She also teaches an education class to help prepare patients who will be having total knee or hip replacement surgery.
Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. They enjoy doing outdoor activities together as a family.
Richard Dalaba, RPA
Rich Dalaba is a native of the Capital Region, growing up in Stillwater, New York. Rich joined Northeast Orthopaedics after receiving his Masters Degree from the Albany Medical College PA program in July of 2008. He is board certified by NCCPA and a member of Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery (PAOS). His time is spent both in the office and operating room working with Dr. Frank Congiusta, a total joint specialist.
Prior to joining the practice, he was a Registered Nurse for 15 years and most recently worked in Northeast Orthopaedics’ ambulatory surgery center. His other nursing experiences include general surgery, organ donation and emergency care.
His outside interests include golfing, teaching EMS, spending time with his wife Joy and son Aaron, and small engine repair.
Stan Frodyma, RPA
Stan Frodyma began his medical career as a USAF medic and after discharge went to work at the VA Medical Center as an operating room tech. A 1975 graduate of the Hudson Valley-Albany Medical Center PA program, he began his PA career at Albany Memorial Hospital in the department of surgery, first and second assisting, with emphasis on orthopedics.
Stan joined a general orthopedic practice in 1987, working with Dr. John Kavanaugh and eventually evolving into Northeast Orthopedics in 1995. Recently Stan has traveled to Birmingham England, where he gained first hand knowledge of the Birmingham Hip resurfacing procedure. He is a member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.
Outside the office setting Stan enjoys working at home improvement and remodeling projects.
